Born in Shanghai, China in 1936. Emigrated to United States as a ten year old. Raised by grandmother. Happily married for over fifty years to Seattle Washington native. Proud parent and grandparent. Relatives and friends worldwide include sister and family in Brazil. aunts, uncles and cousins in Israel and statewide. Engineering and MBA Degrees. Russian and French language skills. Thirty seven year career with the Boeing Company. Initial twelve years as structural engineer on aerospace programs followed by twenty five years as business development executive. Played key roles in the acquisition of multi billion dollar Boeing-Russian space cooperation programs and other non-traditional.
Boeing programs in energy and commercial-industrial markets. Received several company awards. Active in mental health and affordable housing activities during the past sixteen years in retirement. Founded HERO House, a world class clubhouse for psychiatric rehabilitation helping East King County adults recover from mental illness. Served on King County’s affordable housing Citizens Advisory Board. Received King County Yr.

Aerospace Industry Experience and Accomplishments
37 year Career with The Boeing Company as Business Development Executive (25yrs.) structural engineer (12 yrs.) with the following highlights and accomplishments:
- Formulated the concept and played a key role in establishing the Boeing-Russian Space Cooperation Program that led to Boeing being awarded a $ 5.6 billion sole source contract to become the International
Space Station Integrator. Established Strategic Relationships with major Russian space organizations. - Formulated the concept, awarded the contract, and became Program Manager of a multi million dollar Global Nuclear Spent Fuel Storage and Logistics Feasibility Study involving US participation with more than 16 countries.
- Established numerous Strategic Relationships in the areas of Space programs, Energy programs, Computer Aided Manufacturing.
- Director of New Initiatives for Boeing Missiles and Space Division
- Director of Boeing Engineering& Construction Alternative Energy Programs.
- Senior structural engineer on the Lunar Orbiter Program, the first spacecraft to photograph the “backside” of the moon.
- 2 ½ year post retirement part time position as Director of Business Development – Boeing Seattle account for Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI)
Mental Health and Affordable Housing Related Experience and Accomplishments (Retirement)
- Founder and Chairman Emeritus of HERO House, a Clubhouse for
Psychiatric Rehabilitation located in Bellevue, WA. Activities included
a) preparing the Business Plan
b) fundraising
c) hiring Executive Director
d) leasing facility, etc.
- Principal Consultant to NAMI Skagit in planning the “Skagit Peers Connections Centers” which began operations in Mount Vernon, WA on September 2007.
- Awarded Year 2005 King County Exemplary Award for Innovation by the King County Mental Health Division.
- Led proposal preparation leading to the top ranked award ( $308,000) in the Year 2006 State of Washington DSHS procurement for Innovative Services in Mental Health
- Led an initiative to use Accessory Dwelling Units as a viable and affordable housing alternative for low income persons affected by serious mental illness
- Past Member of A Regional Coalition for Housing (ARCH) Citizens Advisory Board • Advisor to NAMI Eastside Board of Directors
